Supramolecular Control of Photonic Response and Sensing of Nitricoxide using Iron(III) Corrole Monolayers and Their Stacks

Lennart Graewe et al.

Summary: Amphiphilic iron(III) corroles are assembled into well-defined quasi-two-dimensional molecular monolayers at air-water interfaces using the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. The optical density of the stacks of molecular monolayers allows for photometric detection of nitric oxide (NO) binding. The highest molecular efficiency for NO binding and detection is achieved at the smallest packing densities.

Chemical gas sensor, surface enhanced Raman scattering and photoelectrics of composite Langmuir-Blodgett films consisting of polypeptide and dye molecules

Na Li et al.

Summary: This study prepared composite films based on PP4 and phthalocyanine dye molecules using LB technique, and studied the aggregation forms of phthalocyanine dye molecules and the structures/properties of composite films. The LB films showed successful composition due to H-bonding, pi-pi stacking, and electrostatic forces, and exhibited excellent acid-alkali gas response, SERS enhancement for CV molecules, and photocurrent generation efficiency. This work provides new clues for the preparation of self-assembled films and their applications as gas sensors, SERS, and photoelectric devices.

Amino-Acid-Encoded Supramolecular Photothermal Nanomedicine for Enhanced Cancer Therapy

Rui Chang et al.

Summary: Photothermal nanomedicine based on the self-assembly of biological components offers a promising approach for precision cancer therapy. This study demonstrates that amino acid encoding can be used to design and construct supramolecular photothermal nanodrugs with controlled therapeutic activities. By optimizing the amount and type of amino acids, the resulting nanodrugs exhibit robust structural integrity, high photothermal conversion efficiency, efficient cellular internalization, and enhanced tumor accumulation, leading to more effective tumor ablation.
