Screen-printed Ga2O3 thin film derived from liquid metal employed in highly sensitive pH and non-enzymatic glucose recognition

Munmun Das et al.

Summary: A new scaffold was introduced for pH and non-enzymatic glucose detection using screen-printed Ga2O3 derived from galinstan. The Ga2O3 from galinstan exhibited better performance compared to Ga2O3 derived from pure gallium. The galinstan-based Ga2O3 sensor showed high sensitivity and a low limit of detection in electrochemical measurement. This innovative method provides a stable, inexpensive, and reliable way to detect pH and glucose at room temperature.

Ga2O3 nanorod-based extended-gate field-effect transistors for pH sensing

Jung-Lung Chiang et al.

Summary: The study investigated the pH-sensing characteristics of gallium oxide (Ga2O3) nanorods grown on ITO/glass via chemical bath deposition. The nanorods exhibited multiple crystalline orientations after annealing, with the presence of Ga-O and Ga-OH bending modes confirmed by FTIR and Raman spectra. The Ga2O3 nanorods showed good crystal quality and atomic lattice arrangement, with high pH sensitivity, good linearity, and long-term stability, making them suitable for use as low-cost FET-based sensors for pH or biosensors.

Toward Precise n-Type Doping Control in MOVPE-Grown β-Ga2O3 Thin Films by Deep-Learning Approach

Ta-Shun Chou et al.

Summary: In this research, a hybrid deep-learning model (fDNN) was trained to predict the doping level in (100) and (010) beta-Ga2O3 thin films grown by MOVPE and investigate the doping behavior of Si dopant. The model revealed that the Si supplied per nm (mol/nm) had a dominant influence on the doping process. An empirical relation was concluded to estimate the doping level using the Si supplied per nm (mol/nm) as the primary variable. The results indicated the similarity of doping behavior between (100) and (010) beta-Ga2O3 thin films through MOVPE and the generality of the findings to different deposition systems.

Compositions and properties of high-conductivity nitrogen-doped p-type β-Ga2O3 films prepared by the thermal oxidation of GaN in N2O ambient

Yi Liu et al.

Summary: A remarkable improvement in the conductivity and crystalline quality of grown nitrogen-doped p-type beta-Ga2O3 films was achieved by thermal oxidation of GaN in N2O ambient. The resulting two-layer structure, with a top layer composed of nanorods and a bottom compact layer, can be applied to photocatalysts and high-performance photodetectors or electronic devices.

Summary: The study used first-principles density functional theory and supercell approach to simulate oxygen and gallium vacancies in β-Ga2O3 crystals. The results showed that oxygen vacancy acts as a deep donor defect, while gallium vacancies serve as deep acceptors, making them unsuitable sources for p-type conductivity.

Critical Thermodynamic Conditions for the Formation of p-Type (β-Ga2O3 with Cu Doping

Chuanyu Zhang et al.

Summary: The study discovered that Cu atoms substituting Ga atoms in beta-Ga2O3 result in p-type conductivity. Formation energies of various doped structures were derived based on first principles calculation with dipole correction, revealing temperature and oxygen partial pressure dependence. The critical thermodynamic condition for forming the substitutional structure was also obtained.
