Determining the Print Quality Due to Deformation of the Halftone Dots in Flexography

Dean Valdec et al.

Summary: This study investigates the issues related to dot deformation in flexography, especially the influence of print run and inadequate printing settings on dot coverage and ink density. The correct ratio of anilox roller line screen to the line ruling of the printing plate is crucial for ensuring a minimum dot size in print.

Assessment of the Condition of Anilox Rollers

Arnas Savickas et al.

Summary: This study investigates the wear and cell clogging of anilox rollers in printing houses in the Baltic states, revealing that over half of the rollers are not washed properly, higher line screen rollers tend to be more clogged, and it is important to take measurements at more than three locations to assess the reliability of more worn rollers.

Influence of Printing Substrate on Quality of Line and Text Reproduction in Flexography

Dean Valdec et al.

Summary: This study characterizes and compares the parameters of quality reproduction of fine elements in flexography on different substrates, finding that coated paper has higher quality reproduction than OPP film, with uncoated paper showing more irregular ink penetration and loss of original shape. The biggest changes in fine element size are noticeable in OPP film due to ink surface spread. Overall, the study contributes to optimizing the production process and quality of the final graphical product.
