Influence of Antimony Species on Electrical Properties of Sb-Doped Zinc Oxide Thin Films Prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition

Summary: This study investigates the influence of antimony (Sb) species on the electrical properties of Sb-doped zinc oxide (SZO) thin films. The Sb species-related defects were controlled by changing the Sb2O3 content in the ablating target. Increasing the Sb2O3 content led to the dominance of Sb3+ species and a conversion from n-type to p-type conductivity in the SZO films. The substituted Sb species and Sb-Zn complex defects were responsible for the different conductivity types at low and high-level doping.

Irregular LIPSS produced on metals by single linearly polarized femtosecond laser

Summary: This study demonstrates the generation of supra-wavelength periodic surface structures (SWPSS) on Sn and triangular and rhombic laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) on W, Mo, Ta, and Nb using a single linearly polarized femtosecond laser. The SWPSS patches possess independent orientations, breaking the traditional rules. The maximal period reported for SWPSS is 25 μm, while the formation of LIPSS depends on material composition. The study also characterizes the reflectance and iridescence of the prepared SWPSS and LIPSS.

Self-Aligned Laser-Induced Periodic Surface Structures for Large-Area Controllable Nanopatterning

Summary: A robust approach is proposed to obtain controllable nanostructures with long-range order based on the half-periodic mismatched optical enhancement (h-MOE) effect. The new laser nanopatterning approach demonstrates controllable patterning ability to theoretically infinitely large-area super-straight gratings, orientation-controllable gratings, and half-periodic mismatched nanohole arrays.
