Negative association between workplace violence and patient safety behaviour in male, but not female, nursing interns: A cross-section study

A cross-sectional survey was conducted at three general hospitals in Shandong Province, China to collect data from 466 nursing interns. The results showed that sex moderated the association between workplace violence and patient safety behavior, with a significant association found in male nursing interns but not in females.

Analyzing the impacts of informal institutional factors affecting gender inequality: Evidence from 43 countries

Summary: Gender inequality is a concept deeply influenced by socio-cultural factors, and understanding its underlying causes is crucial. This study analyzed the impact of informal institutions on gender inequality in various countries, using multiple parameters and finding that factors such as gender, education level, and income level also influenced these institutions. Interestingly, more women were found to support gender-biased perceptions in the sub-analyses. The results demonstrate how informal institutions shape and influence people's thoughts and views regardless of gender or socio-economic level. Therefore, taking deliberate measures to change people's attitudes towards gender issues is critical. The study suggests policy recommendations such as introducing citizen participation, conducting media campaigns, increasing international cooperation for proper gender-related mechanisms, and ensuring equal access to resources and opportunities.
