A novel method for extracting mutation points of acoustic emission signals based on cosine similarity

Weinan Liu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel method based on cosine similarity to detect change points in acoustic emission (AE) signals. The method performs better in extracting mutation points in an AE monitoring experiment. A combination of de-negative and linear normalization steps is applied in the preprocessing procedure to eliminate interference.

Acoustic emission monitoring and heat-affected zone evaluation of CFRP laser cutting

Long Chen et al.

Summary: Acoustic emission (AE) technology is utilized to analyze the mechanism and evaluate the size of the heat-affected zone (HAZ) in laser cutting of carbon fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRP). The frequency distribution and root-mean-square (RMS) characteristics of AE signals provide valuable information about laser ablation and denudation.

Temperature-dependent material removal during pulsed laser processing of CFRP composites

Nengru Tao et al.

Summary: Understanding the material removal mechanism and thermal characteristics in pulsed laser machining of CFRP composites is crucial for optimizing process parameters and strategies. However, current studies mainly focus on the effects of process parameters on heat affected zone size and processing efficiency, without fully revealing the formation mechanism of machining defects related to temperature characteristics.

Effects of tangential supersonic airflow on the laser ablation of laminated CFRP

Weina Zhao et al.

Summary: The ablation behaviors of laminated carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) under intense continuous wave laser in a supersonic wind tunnel were experimentally investigated, showing significantly higher ablation rates compared to other environments. The ablation morphology was classified into coupled ablation zone (CAZ) and downstream affected zone (DAZ), with thermal-fluid-solid analysis revealing distinctive contributions of different laser mechanisms at different positions of the ablation pit.
