Performance of the new biological small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering beamline 13A at the Taiwan Photon Source

O. Shih et al.

Summary: Recent developments in instrumentation and data analysis have made biological small-angle X-ray scattering (BioSAXS) a mature and popular tool in structural biology. This article reports on an advanced endstation developed for biological SAXS-WAXS at Taiwan Photon Source, featuring an in-vacuum detection system and an online size-exclusion chromatography system. The endstation allows high-throughput biomolecular conformation and composition determinations.

Methods of Liposomes Preparation: Formation and Control Factors of Versatile Nanocarriers for Biomedical and Nanomedicine Application

Domenico Lombardo et al.

Summary: Liposomes are nano-sized vesicles commonly used in nanomedicine and biomedical applications. They have high biocompatibility and can enhance drug delivery by reducing side effects and toxicity. However, liposomes are sensitive to mechanical and chemical actions, leading to limited colloidal stability and reduced cargo molecule entrapment.
