Transformer Aging Diagnosis Method Based on Raman Spectroscopy Wavelet Packet-SPCA Feature Extraction

Ruimin Song et al.

Summary: In this article, thermal accelerated aging experiments were conducted to obtain oil-paper insulation samples with different aging states. Raman spectroscopy was used to measure the spectra of the samples and sparse principal component analysis was applied to extract features and establish a diagnosis model for aging states. The results showed that the accuracy of the diagnosis model reached 94.9%. Validation on samples from transformers in operation confirmed the effectiveness of the method. This method is of practical significance for quickly detecting the aging states of operating transformers.

Predicting resilient modulus of flexible pavement foundation using extreme gradient boosting based optimised models

Reza Sarkhani Benemaran et al.

Summary: Resilient modulus (M-R) is crucial in the evaluation and design of flexible pavement foundations. Traditional experiment-based methods for determining M-R are time-consuming and expensive. In this study, an extreme gradient boosting-based (XGB) model is proposed to predict the resilient modulus of flexible pavement foundations. The model is optimized using various optimization methods and a large database. The results show that the proposed method accurately predicts the M-R of flexible pavement foundations.
