Osteoinductive Bone Morphogenic Protein, Collagen Scaffold, Calcium Phosphate Cement, and Magnesium-Based Fixation Enhance Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tendon Graft to Bone Healing In Animal Models: A Systematic Review

Marc Saab et al.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic literature review to analyze the use of osteoinductive materials in enhancing the tendon graft-bone interface for ACL reconstruction. The most promising strategies included wrapping the graft with a collagen scaffold loaded with osteoinductive molecules, injecting calcium phosphate cement at the interface, and using magnesium-based interference screws. Further research is needed to establish standardized assessments and determine the clinical relevance of these strategies.

Betaine regulates adipogenic and osteogenic differentiation of hAD-MSCs

Yue Jing et al.

Summary: This study found that betaine promotes osteogenic differentiation and inhibits adipogenic differentiation of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) and human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hAD-MSCs). Further analysis showed that betaine exerts its effects through pathways such as the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, and ECM-receptor interaction. The results contribute to the exploration of betaine as a potential adjunct for MSC therapy.

Multifunctional Nanomachinery for Enhancement of Bone Healing

Min-juan Shen et al.

Summary: The idea that RNA can play nonbiological roles in the nanomaterial world is revolutionary. RNA molecules can self-assemble into various nanostructures and have the potential to replicate bone healing. The development of RNA-biomineral nanomachines can mimic bone formation and create an environment conducive to rapid biomineralization and osteogenesis.

Exosome-delivered BMP-2 and polyaspartic acid promotes tendon bone healing in rotator cuff tear via Smad/RUNX2 signaling pathway

Lei Han et al.

Summary: This study investigated the function and mechanism of exosomes containing polylactic acid (PLA), polylactic acid copolymer, and BMP-2 in tendon bone healing of rotator cuff tear. The results showed that exosome-delivered BMP-2 and PLA can promote tendon bone healing in rotator cuff tear through the Smad/RUNX2 pathway.
