Insights into the role of metal cation substitution on the anionic dye removal performance of CoAl-LDH

Yi Wang et al.

Summary: A series of ternary LDHs were designed as adsorbents to remove MO and CR, with CoNiAl-LDH showing higher adsorption capacity than other ternary LDHs samples. The maximum adsorption capacity reached over 330 mg/g under optimal conditions of 25 degrees C and pH=3.

Surface chemistry and structure evaluation of Mg/Al and Mg/Fe LDH derived from magnesite and dolomite in comparison to LDH obtained from chemicals

Karolina Rybka et al.

Summary: The study explored the possibility of obtaining Mg/Al and Mg/Fe LDHs without excessive use of chemical reagents by using cheaper substrates through a simplified co-precipitation synthesis at room temperature. The LDHs derived from minerals showed similar structural features as compared to the reference samples, but resulted in the formation of additional phases. The transformation procedure via simplified synthesis may significantly reduce the final cost of the adsorbents by excluding expensive chemical reagents.
