Systematic review and network meta-analysis of effects of noninvasive brain stimulation on post-stroke cognitive impairment

Effects of rTMS treatment on global cognitive function in Alzheimer's disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: This meta-analysis included 9 studies and found that repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) can significantly improve global cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and the effects can last for an extended duration. High-frequency rTMS targeted to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) had the best therapeutic effect, with the effects lasting for more than 1 month after treatment. There were no significant differences in dropout rate or adverse effect rate between the rTMS and control groups.

Lesions causing post-stroke spasticity localize to a common brain network
