Evaluation of Pb doped Poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) blend composites regarding physicochemical and radiation shielding properties

Summary: In this study, composites with shape memory properties were prepared by blending a polymer with lead element. The thermal stability of the polymer blend decreased with increasing lead percentage. The best shape memory properties were observed in the polymer blend containing 4% lead. The XRD results showed the characteristic cubic shape of lead in the composites. The highest degree of crystallinity was found in the polymer blend composite containing 16% lead. The gamma irradiation experiment demonstrated that the linear absorption capacity increased with increasing lead percentage.
