length All-fiber reflective single-pixel imaging with long working distance

Run-ze Zhu et al.

Summary: We have demonstrated all-fiber reflective single-pixel imaging with a long working distance and large field of view. By using wavelength-dependent multimode fiber speckle to illuminate the object, the system is made compact and stable. With collimated MMF speckle patterns and an optical fiber receiving device, we achieved reflective optical fiber single-pixel imaging with a working distance of over 5 mm and a field of view of about 9 mm2. By employing compressed sensing, object images can be reconstructed with a sampling rate of about 4%. This work provides a method and reference for practical applications of optical fiber endoscopic imaging with requirements for a long working distance and large field of view.

Single multimode fiber imaging based on low-rank recovery

Dongyue Yang et al.

Summary: A novel scheme of single multimode fiber imaging utilizing low-rank constraint to achieve faithful image recovery is presented. This scheme takes advantage of the self-similarity property of natural images, resulting in higher image quality and smoothness, especially in under-sampling cases. The method is also robust against fiber bending and could potentially simplify and improve imaging tasks.

Image reconstruction through a multimode fiber with a simple neural network architecture

Changyan Zhu et al.

Summary: The study found that a considerably simpler neural network architecture, the single hidden layer dense neural network, performs just as well as previously-used CNNs in terms of image reconstruction fidelity, and is superior in terms of training time and computing resources required. The trained networks can accurately reconstruct MMF images collected over a week after the cessation of the training set, with the dense network performing as well as the CNN over the entire period.
