FAST COMPUTING APPROACHES BASED ON A BILINEAR PSEUDO-SPECTRAL METHOD FOR NONLINEAR ACOUSTIC WAVE EQUATIONS

Manoochehr Khasi et al.

Summary: In this research study, a bilinear Chebyshev pseudo-spectral method is applied to solve the two-dimensional and three-dimensional nonlinear wave equations. The wave equation is approximated using this method and transformed into a set of separated second-order ordinary differential equations. This transformation reduces the computational complexity and improves the efficiency of the approach.

On the Rosenau equation: Lie symmetries, periodic solutions and solitary wave dynamics

Ali Demirci et al.

Summary: In this paper, the authors investigate the Rosenau equation with quadratic and general power-type nonlinearities. They identify the Lie symmetry algebra and obtain reductions to ODEs for the quadratic case. Periodic analytical solutions in terms of elliptic functions are found. The non-existence of solitary waves for certain parameters is proven using Pohozaev type identities. Numerical experiments are conducted to study the dynamics of solitary waves.

A meshless two-stage scheme for the fifth-order dispersive models in the science of waves on water

M. Seydaoglu

Summary: In this study, a numerical solution method based on a two-stage fourth order exponential Rosenbrock integrator and a meshfree scheme is proposed for solving higher odd-order PDEs, specifically the Kawahara and Kawahara-KdV equations. Numerical simulations on two test examples of the Kawahara-type dispersive equations demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method in describing the behavior of solitary waves.

Time-Dependent Analytic Solutions for Water Waves above Sea of Varying Depths

Imre Ferenc Barna et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate a hydrodynamic equation system that can describe the propagation of tsunamis in the open ocean. We found analytical solutions for the wave height and velocity in time and space, considering both constant and linear seabed functions, as well as an oblique seabed. Additionally, we apply the traveling wave Ansatz and present relatively simple yet instructive solutions.

Soliton wave solutions of nonlinear mathematical models in elastic rods and bistable surfaces

O. Nikan et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the numerical solution of the nonlinear regularized long-wave and nonlinear extended Fisher-Kolmogorov models, and proposes a meshfree method that approximates the solutions using radial basis functions and finite difference technique without linearizing the nonlinear terms. Numerical results confirm the efficiency and accuracy of the method and are consistent with existing works in literature.

A locally stabilized radial basis function partition of unity technique for the sine-Gordon system in nonlinear optics

O. Nikan et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a localized radial basis function partition of unity method (RBF-PUM) for solving the sine-Gordon system. The proposed method approximates the unknown solution through time and space discretization, addressing the high computational time associated with global collocation techniques. To overcome the instability issue, an RBF-QR scheme is adopted to enhance accuracy and stability for small shape parameter values.

Derivative-free SMR conjugate gradient method for constraint nonlinear equations

Abdulkarim Hassan Ibrahim et al.

Summary: In this paper, a derivative-free SMR method is proposed to solve nonlinear equations with convex constraints based on the SMR conjugate gradient method and the Solodov and Svaiter projection technique. The method can solve large-scale nonlinear equations with convex constraints and has global convergence.

Wavelet neural network based controller design for non-affine nonlinear systems

Pramendra Kumar et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the design of a control scheme using wavelet neural network (WNN) for non-affine nonlinear systems with unknown control direction. The update laws, derived from Lyapunov stability theory and Nussbaum technique, ensure that all signals in the closed-loop system are stable and bounded. Simulation examples and analysis are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the controller.

Numerical study of the nonlinear anomalous reaction-subdiffusion process arising in the electroanalytical chemistry

O. Nikan et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a meshless method for approximating solutions of nonlinear reaction-diffusion models. Time discretization is done using a weighted discrete scheme, while spatial discretization employs RBF-FD. The approach benefits from a local collocation technique for estimating the differential operators, enhancing computational efficiency.

Exact solutions of transaction cost nonlinear models for illiquid markets

Javed Hussain

Summary: The study aims to demonstrate the applicability of the Reduced Differential Transform Algorithm (RDTA) to highly nonlinear evolution equations in quantitative finance. Exact solutions of nonlinear PDEs in the illiquid Black-Scholes market are computed by relaxing the transaction-cost assumption. Furthermore, the impact of price slippage in the illiquid Black-Scholes model with transaction-cost is also studied.
