Eigenfrequency optimisation of free violin plates

Summary: This study discusses the modal response changes of violin plates as their shapes vary. By developing a parametric model based on a 3D scan of a historic violin top plate, the researchers are able to control the smooth shaping of the interior while ensuring the boundary remains the same as the original violin. The study demonstrates how different parameters can affect the eigenmodes of the plate frequencies in a nonlinear fashion.

Exploiting Modern Chladni Plates to Analogously Manifest the Point Interaction

Summary: This study utilizes a truncated basis to analyze the influence of point interaction on the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions in quantum billiards. It is found that the coupling strength significantly affects the amplitude and nodal-line patterns of the eigenfunctions. Moreover, it is demonstrated that point-driven Chladni plates can analogously exhibit the dependency of nodal-line patterns on coupling strength.
