The PRISMI Plus Toolkit Application to a Grid-Connected Mediterranean Island

Siamak Hoseinzadeh et al.

Summary: This study investigates the application of the PRISMI Plus approach to drive the transition towards low-carbon and high-renewable energy system in the Island of Procida. The analysis includes the assessment of local renewable energy potential, its matching with the energy demand, and prioritizing technological solutions to achieve decarbonization targets. Three scenarios were designed for 2030 with varying penetration of renewable energy, resulting in increasing power production. Carbon reduction in the electricity supply is expected through utilization of local solar resources, heat pumps for heating, and electric vehicles for transportation.
