The study found that sets of activities during transformative tourism, such as backpacker tourism, volunteer tourism, and study tours, contribute to travelers' hedonic and eudaimonic well-being. The study also proposed an integrated activities-needs-well-being framework to demonstrate how transformative tourism affects travelers' well-being.

An extension of the theory of planned behaviour in Thailand cycling tourism: the mediating role of attractiveness of sustainable alternatives

Summary: An extended theory of planned behaviour (TPB) model was used to study the relationship between constructs of the model and the actual behavior of cycling tourists in Thailand. By analyzing 395 bicycle tourists, this study found that attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control significantly influenced the intention and actual behavior of cycling tourism, with the attractiveness of sustainable alternatives mediating the impact of intention on behavior. This study sheds light on the volitional and non-volitional processes, intention formation, and the role of sustainable alternatives in cycling tourism in Thailand.
