Design of nanofluid-cooled heat sink using topology optimization

Bin Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper presented the topology optimization of 2D and 3D Nanofluid-Cooled Heat Sink (NCHS) and investigated the effects of energy dissipation constraints, temperature-dependent fluid properties, and nanofluid characteristics on optimal configurations. The study concluded that the branched flow channels in the optimal configuration increased with the rise of allowed energy dissipation, and that temperature-dependent fluid properties were significant for obtaining appropriate optimal results with the best cooling performance.

Thermal management and temperature uniformity enhancement of electronic devices by micro heat sinks: A review

Ziqiang He et al.

Summary: Micro heat sinks are crucial for addressing the challenges of high heat flux and non-uniform temperature distribution in electronic devices. Developments in thermal enhancement technologies and reducing non-uniform temperature distribution are essential. An effective adaptive cooling method is urgently needed to improve the efficiency and lifespan of electronic components.

Experimental investigation of thermal performance for pulsating flow in a microchannel heat sink filled with PCM (paraffin/CNT composite)

Chong Xu et al.

Summary: The thermal performance of a novel microchannel heat sink can be significantly improved using PCM composite and GOPs nanofluids. A 20% proportion of carbon nanotubes results in a significant decrease in total thermal resistance and a maximum increase in Nusselt number of 34.9%. The enhancement effects of pulsating flow and PCM composite on thermal performance are influenced by pump power and heating load, with higher heating power playing a positive role and higher pump power having a negative effect.
