Solid-State Lighting Using Side-by-Side White Phosphorescent Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

Claire Arneson et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a method for achieving tunable white light through the side-by-side positioning of monochromatic blue and yellow phosphorescent OLED stripes using a high-resolution mechanical peel-off patterning method. The results show a peak luminous power efficiency of 17.1 lm W-1 and an external quantum efficiency of 11.8%, as well as the ability to adjust the color temperature and color rendering index of the light source. The peel-off technique used in this method ensures a comparable device lifetime to conventionally patterned devices.

Manipulation of Pt???Pt Interaction in Platinum Complex by Methyl Group to Achieve Single- Doped White OLEDs: An Approach to Simulation of Daylight from Dawn until Dusk

Zhen Zhang et al.

Summary: This study reports the development of white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) based on platinum complexes with tunable correlated color temperature (CCT). By methylating the ligand, the interaction between Pt(II) complexes was regulated, resulting in adjustable emission and CCT of the WOLEDs. High device performances with high external quantum efficiency and low efficiency roll-offs were achieved using exciplex as a host. Moreover, the CCT of the WOLEDs could be tuned by changing the driving voltages, matching with the daylight spectrum.

Manipulation of Pt•••Pt Interaction in Platinum Complex by Methyl Group to Achieve Single-Doped White OLEDs: An Approach to Simulation of Daylight from Dawn until Dusk

Zhen Zhang et al.

Summary: White organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) are important for energy conservation and reducing carbon emissions due to their excellent electro-optic conversion efficiency. However, the complexity of the structure and high fabrication costs limit the practicality of traditional WOLEDs. To address these issues, WOLEDs based on platinum (Pt) complexes with a single light-emitting layer show great potential.

Energy Regulation in White-Light-Emitting Diodes

Run Wang et al.

Summary: Full electroluminescence white-light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) are a focus of research in the development of white light sources due to their potential and advantages in energy saving. Achieving white emission involves balancing the excitation of different color emissive centers, which is challenging due to the different bandgaps of the emitters. Regulating the energy distribution among the emissive centers is crucial for achieving white emission and improving the performance and color quality of WLEDs. Various energy regulation strategies have been proposed, promoting the development of full EL-WLEDs.

Efficient hybrid white organic light-emitting diodes with superior color stability and slow efficiency roll-off based on ultrathin emitting layer structures

Weidong Sun et al.

Summary: In this study, high-performance hybrid white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) were successfully achieved by strategically inserting an ultrathin red phosphorescent emitter film into a bluish-green thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) light-emitting layer (EML). The experimental results demonstrated that the introduction of the ultrathin phosphor film improved exciton utilization probability and carriers balance, leading to a stable recombination zone. The optimal hybrid WOLED exhibited high current efficiency, power efficiency, and external quantum efficiency, as well as slow efficiency roll-off and excellent color stability.
