Seed-assisted synthesis of Ga-MFI slabs and nanocrystal agglomerates and comparative study of acidic properties

Fanyong Meng et al.

Summary: A series of Ga-MFI zeolites were synthesized using a seed-assisted strategy without additional organic template. The synthesis parameters were investigated to understand the framework fabrication, morphology evolution, and gallium incorporation. The cost of tetrapropylammonium hydroxide (TPA+) was significantly reduced through the use of Si/Ga seed. Crystallization temperature and pre-aging conditions played key roles, and the addition of mineralizer and surfactant controlled morphology and gallium concentration.

Production of monocyclic aromatics and light olefins through ex-situ catalytic pyrolysis of low-density polyethylene over Ga/P/ZSM-5 catalyst

Jiehan Zhang et al.

Summary: Ex-situ catalytic pyrolysis of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) was performed using a two-stage fixed bed. Results showed that Ga/ZSM-5 and Ga/P/ZSM-5 catalysts were beneficial for the production of olefins and aromatics, and the introduction of P improved the selectivity of aromatics. Compared to in-situ catalytic pyrolysis, ex-situ catalytic pyrolysis was identified as a better method for processing plastic waste.

Thermal and catalytic pyrolysis of a real mixture of post-consumer plastic waste: An analysis of the gasoline-range product

Marco F. Paucar-Sanchez et al.

Summary: This study investigates the thermal and catalytic pyrolysis of different types of plastic waste and a real mixture. The yields of gas, liquid, and solid products vary significantly depending on the polymer type. Expanded polystyrene produces the highest gas yield, high-impact polystyrene yields the most oil, and polypropylene film releases the most char. High-impact polystyrene also produces the highest yield of gasoline-range product, mainly composed of aromatics compounds.

Nanosponge TS-1: A Fully Crystalline Hierarchical Epoxidation Catalyst

Jan Prech et al.

Summary: This study presents a MFI titanosilicate nanosponge (nsTS-1) prepared by post-synthesis titanium impregnation, which shows efficient catalytic properties in the epoxidation of cyclic olefins and terpenes. The structure of nsTS-1 with isolated framework-attached Ti sites enables tailored catalysts for direct epoxidation, potentially reducing costs and waste in large epoxide production.

One-Pot Synthesis of Full-Featured Mesoporous Ni/Al2O3 Catalysts via a Spray Pyrolysis-Assisted Evaporation-Induced Self-Assembly Method for Dry Reforming of Methane

Jeong-Cheol Seo et al.

Summary: This study successfully prepared mesoporous supported nickel catalysts with high activity and stability in DRM reaction through a one-pot synthesis method. By using spray pyrolysis-assisted evaporation-induced self-assembly, the catalysts with highly dispersed nickel active sites were obtained in one step. Furthermore, the performance of nickel catalysts was further optimized by employing phase segregation and exsolution strategies.
