A Machine Learning Approach for Mapping Chlorophyll Fluorescence at Inland Wetlands

Summary: Wetlands are vital for climate mitigation, adaptation, biodiversity, and human health. Monitoring wetland vegetation is crucial as it plays a significant role in the planet's carbon cycle and ecosystem management. In this study, the XGBoost algorithm was used to accurately map chlorophyll fluorescence in the unique ecosystem of the Biebrza Valley. The results highlighted the advantages of using EO Sentinel-2 satellite image mosaics and showed the accuracy of the XGBoost algorithm in estimating chlorophyll fluorescence.

Validation of Four Satellite-Derived Soil Moisture Products Using Ground-Based In Situ Observations over Northern China

Summary: This study evaluated the accuracy of four satellite-based soil moisture products in northern China by analyzing their spatial distribution and variability in different seasons and climate zones. The results showed that the satellite products performed best in summer and had large biases in winter. The CCI product performed well in arid climate zones, while SMAP and SMOS products had large biases in the eastern monsoon region.
