Towards Consistent Soil Moisture Records from China's FengYun-3 Microwave Observations

Summary: Soil moisture is crucial at the land-atmosphere interface, and satellite observations can provide consistent global soil moisture records. Microwave observations from Chinese satellites FY-3B, FY-3C, and FY-3D have the potential to fill existing data gaps. The study found that FY-3C ascending data better captures soil moisture dynamics compared to FY-3B, and combining both datasets results in more reliable global soil moisture records.
