Regulating the Solvation Structure of Li+ Enables Chemical Prelithiation of Silicon-Based Anodes Toward High-Energy Lithium-Ion Batteries

Wenjie He et al.

Summary: The solvation structure of Li+ in chemical prelithiation reagent is crucial for improving the initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) and cycle performance of silicon-based materials. By selecting a specific lithium-arene complex reagent and solvent, a micro-sized SiO/C anode with nearly 100% ICE can be achieved. Molecular dynamics simulations show that the prelithiation efficiency can be optimized by regulating the solvation structure of Li+ through appropriate choice of anion ligand and solvent.
