Effect of long-wave deviation of stator plane on high-speed maglev train and guideway system

Xiangfu Tian et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of long-wave deviations on the dynamic characteristics of high-speed maglev trains. A vertical analysis model of the coupled train-guideway system is presented, and the effect of various parameters on the dynamic response is evaluated. The results show that initial pre-camber improves driving safety and comfort, while long-wave deviations on the stator plane deteriorate them. Higher train speeds, long-wave deviations levels, and larger bridge spans result in larger vehicle dynamic response.

Protective effect of railway bridge wind barriers on moving trains: An experimental study

Huoyue Xiang et al.

Summary: This paper presents an experimental study on the protective effect of wind barriers on moving head and tail train vehicles under crosswinds. The results indicate that wind speed, height, and porosity of the wind barriers significantly affect the protective effect. The wind speed reduction coefficient enables fast prediction of the vehicle overturning moment coefficient after the installation of a porous wind barrier.

Dynamic effects of turbulent crosswinds on a suspended monorail vehicle-curved bridge coupled system

Yulong Bao et al.

Summary: This article proposes a novel framework for analyzing the dynamic responses of suspended monorail vehicles running over curved bridges under crosswinds, considering the angle between wind and vehicle changes. The wind direction has a great effect on the lateral dynamic response of curved bridges, guiding tire, and running tire, which decreases as the vehicle spends more time on the curved bridges.

Dynamic Interaction Analysis of High-Speed Maglev Train and Guideway with a Control Loop Failure

Huoyue Xiang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the dynamic response of a maglev train and guideway when a control loop failure occurs. A spatial coupling vibration model is proposed and validated using measured results. The results show that the location of the fault, vehicle weight, and preload of the guidance system can influence the dynamic response of the maglev train, while the impact on the guideway is minimal.

Influence of bolster-hanger length on the dynamic performance of high-speed EMS maglev vehicles

Yang Feng et al.

Summary: The study suggests that the length of the hanger beam on maglev vehicles has a significant impact on their dynamic performance on curves and straight tracks. An appropriately medium length hanger (0.24 m) can provide better curve negotiation capacity and ride quality for the high-speed maglev vehicles.

Summary: This paper develops a fully coupled wind-vehicle-bridge interaction model to evaluate the dynamic performance and riding comfort of the suspended monorail vehicle bridge system subject to turbulent crosswinds. The interactions between the vehicle and the bridge, wind and the bridge, and wind and the vehicle are considered in the model. Results indicate that turbulent crosswinds could have a significant impact on the dynamic performance of the system and should be taken into account in simulation for accurate analysis.
