CPGView: A package for visualizing detailed chloroplast genome structures

Shengyu Liu et al.

Summary: CPGView is a software package that can draw distribution maps of chloroplast genomes and identify annotation errors. It can draw maps of genes, variable sites, and repetitive sequences, adjust exon-intron boundary positions, and plot the structure of specific genes. The software has shown high accuracy and reliability in testing and will become an important tool for studying chloroplast genome structure.

Population genetic assessment of Viburnum japonicum in China using ddRAD-seq

Hong Zhu et al.

Summary: This study assessed the genetic diversity and population structure of Viburnum japonicum in four natural populations in the coastal islands of Zhejiang Province, China. Using ddRAD-seq, 445,060 high-quality SNPs were identified. The results showed that V. japonicum exhibited medium genetic diversity with strong population structure, influenced by its island distribution pattern and self-crossing characteristics. These findings provide important insights for the conservation and sustainable development of V. japonicum genetic resources.

Complete chloroplast genome structural characterization of two Phalaenopsis (Orchidaceae) species and comparative analysis with their alliance

Lei Tao et al.

Summary: The chloroplast genomes of Phalaenopsis storbatiana and P. wilsonii were analyzed and compared, revealing their genetic relationship and taxonomic information. The study also found high sequence similarity in coding and non-coding regions among these two species and six related taxa, but different amplification in IR regions. Phylogenetic analysis confirmed the placement of P. storbatiana and P. wilsonii in tribe Vandeae of Epidendroideae, consistent with previous studies.

Complete Chloroplast Genomes and Comparative Analyses of Three Ornamental Impatiens Species

Chao Luo et al.

Summary: This study sequenced the complete chloroplast genomes of three Impatiens ornamental species and compared them with previously published data. The results showed similar genomic features among the species, as well as identified highly variable nucleotide hotspots that could be used as markers for species identification and taxonomy. The phylogenetic analysis revealed a close relationship among the Impatiens species studied.
