Solid-State Decarboxylation of Cyclophane Tetra(malonatemethylene) Derivative

M. N. Gabdulkhaev et al.

Summary: Heat-induced solid-state decarboxylation of tetra(malonatemethylene) based cyclophane leads to its tetra(2-carboxyethyl) derivative in quantitative yield, providing a more thermostable substance compared to the product formed in solution. The studied cyclophanes have been characterized using various thermal analysis techniques.

Determination of Melting Parameters of Cyclodextrins Using Fast Scanning Calorimetry

Askar K. Gatiatulin et al.

Summary: The fusion phenomenon of native cyclodextrins was studied using fast scanning calorimetry, which revealed the influence of heating rates on the process. The decomposition reactions were suppressed at high heating rates. The activation energies of thermal decomposition were measured for different cyclodextrins, indicating lower thermal stability for beta-cyclodextrin compared to the others.

Transition-Metal-Mediated Functionalization of White Phosphorus

Christian M. Hoidn et al.

Summary: This review discusses the interest in transitioning from current industrial routes for transforming white phosphorus to more direct and efficient methods using transition-metal centers. The focus is on the two-step process of P-4 activation and functionalization of the resulting TM-P-n complex, highlighting the challenges in productive functionalization.

Organometallic polyphosphorus complexes as diversified building blocks in coordination chemistry

Eugenia Peresypkina et al.

Summary: Complexes containing cyclo-P-n ligands can form coordination with metal atoms, leading to a wide range of self-assembled structures including polynuclear complexes, multidimensional coordination polymers, and giant supramolecules. Different coordination modes can be achieved based on the number and position of phosphorus atoms in the P-n ring, contributing to the structural diversity of self-assembled architectures.
