Carlo Lazzari et al.
Summary: During the COVID-19 lockdown, social isolation and feelings of loneliness in the older population have increased, which may lead to a higher risk of dementia. A meta-analysis found that the risk of developing dementia in older people due to prolonged loneliness and social isolation is about 49% to 60% higher.
