Quantitative Volumetric Enamel Loss after Orthodontic Debracketing/Debonding and Clean-Up Procedures: A Systematic Review

Gaetano Paolone et al.

Summary: This systematic review assessed enamel loss after orthodontic debonding and clean-up procedures. Nine studies were included, and it was found that these procedures resulted in enamel loss, but the procedure with the least enamel volume loss has not been identified yet.

Effect of different resin removal methods on enamel after metal and ceramic bracket debonding An in vitro micro-computed tomography study

Emre Cesur et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the effects of different adhesive debonding and polishing techniques on enamel using micro-CT after metal and ceramic bracket removal. Tungsten carbide bur with pumice should be avoided for cleaning enamel after debonding, while the use of composite burs and Sof-Lex discs can help minimize damage, particularly after debonding ceramic brackets.
