Bhupendra K. Sharma et al.

Summary: The present study investigates the enhancement of thermal energy transfer in hybrid nanofluid flow induced by a rotating Riga disk with the presence of thermal radiation and chemical reaction. Silver and aluminium oxide nanoparticles are utilized to examine the thermal impact of the water base fluid. The Darcy-Forchheimer model is employed to account for the inertial and porous media effects, making the model more realistic in the physical scenario. The Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation algorithm is utilized to analyze the properties of the hybrid nanofluid.

Heat transfer analysis of a hybrid nanofluid flow on a rotating disk considering thermal radiation effects

Naif Abdulaziz M. Alkuhayli

Summary: This study examines heat transfer in a rotating disk-driven hybrid nanofluid. The nanofluid is composed of copper and dioxide nanoparticles in water and is subjected to a constant magnetic field. The researchers consider heat generation/absorption and thermal radiation and employ similarity transformations and the Shooting Method to solve the governing equations. The research demonstrates that higher nanoparticle concentration in the fluid enhances convective heat transfer, resulting in increased radial and azimuthal velocities, higher fluid velocity, and a lower local skin friction coefficient. Heat generation/absorption and thermal radiation significantly influence the heat transfer process. Additionally, the temperature of the hybrid nanofluid increases with higher nanoparticle concentration, variable thermal conductivity parameter, and radiation parameter. The local Nusselt number increases with the variable thermal conductivity parameter, but decreases with nanoparticle concentration while increases with the thermal radiation parameter. The results of a special case analysis align closely with previous studies, confirming the validity of the solution. These findings are particularly relevant to energy engineering and thermal management, providing insight into heat transfer in similar scenarios.

Numerical simulation of heat and mass transfer in magnetic nanofluid flow by a rotating disk with variable fluid properties

K. Sharma et al.

Summary: The study of fluid flow over a rotating disk is of great significance in various industries and scientific fields. This investigation focuses on the ferrohydrodynamic flow of magnetic nanofluid caused by a rotating disk, taking into account temperature-dependent thermal conductivity and geothermal viscosity. The rotation of the disk is found to significantly enhance the radial movement of flow, while other parameters such as variable viscosity, magnetic field parameter, and Reynolds number also have an impact on the flow. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the heat transfer phenomenon and fill a gap in the existing literature.

Bodewadt Flow and Heat Transfer in Nanofluid over a Permeable and Radially Stretching Disk

Anis Anisah Mahyuddin et al.

Summary: In this study, a Bodewadt boundary layer flow and heat transfer problem in nanofluid was investigated. The effects of suction/injection and suction/injection combined with radial stretching disk were examined. The introduction of similarity variables transformed the three-dimensional flow into a system of ordinary differential equations. It was found that both suction and stretching disk effects can suppress the natural oscillatory behavior of flow and reduce the boundary layer thicknesses. However, injection acts oppositely. The skin friction coefficient and heat transfer rate increase with increasing suction and stretching parameters. The volume fraction of nanoparticles can enhance wall shear stress for stagnant disk, but only enhances heat transfer when both suction and nanoparticle volume fraction are sufficiently small. For radially stretching disk, the local skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number increase with increasing nanoparticle volume fraction. However, for larger suction, a smaller volume fraction of nanoparticles yields enhanced heat transfer compared to a larger volume fraction.

Entropy generation in radiative magneto-hydrodynamic mixed convective flow of viscoelastic hybrid nanofluid over a spinning disk

Wubshet Ibrahim et al.

Summary: This study investigates the heat and mass relocation properties of magneto-hydrodynamic mixed convective viscoelastic hybrid nanofluid flow induced by an extending spinning disk under various factors such as entropy generation, thermal radiation, convective condition, velocity, and concentration slips. The results show that the velocity field and temperature distribution can be controlled by adjusting the viscoelastic constraint and volume fraction of solid non-sized particles. Furthermore, the entropy generation in the system can be regulated by using a higher volume fraction of nanoparticles. This research is important for bio-viscoelastic fluids, advanced technology, and industry.
