An analysis of tumor-related potential spinal column instability (Spine Instability Neoplastic Scores 7?12) eventually requiring surgery with a 1-year follow-up

Enrique Vargas et al.

Summary: Research findings indicate that patients with tumor-related potential spinal instability in the SINS 7-12 range and a mean SINS value of 11 or greater may require surgical intervention after initial nonoperative management. Patients with spinal lesions, a KPS score of 60 or lower, and a SINS value lower than 10 have increased rates of surgery.
