Anti-Inflammatory and Antinociceptive Effects of Boesenbergia rotunda Polyphenol Extract in Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Rats

Peng Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the potential of Boesenbergia rotunda extract (EBR) in attenuating diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) in rats. The results showed that EBR could effectively reduce blood glucose concentration, alleviate body weight loss, and improve thermal hyperalgesia, cold and mechanical allodynia, as well as motor coordination in diabetic rats. EBR also exhibited anti-nociceptive effects and decreased serum levels of proinflammatory cytokines. These findings suggest that EBR may be a promising treatment for diabetic painful neuropathy.

Doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity: An update on the molecular mechanism and novel therapeutic strategies for effective management

Pushkar Singh Rawat et al.

Summary: Doxorubicin, a commonly used anti-cancer drug, exerts its activity through DNA intercalation and inhibition of topoisomerase II enzyme. However, its use is limited by its dose-dependent cardiotoxicity, which is believed to involve oxidative stress, apoptosis, and various other mechanisms. Pharmacological strategies have been explored to mitigate Doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity.
