Correlation between stage of prostate cancer and tyrosine and tryptophan in urine samples measured electrochemically

Hashmatullah Nasimi et al.

Summary: Prostate cancer is a common cancer in men, and early detection is crucial for successful treatment. Current screening methods lack tumor specificity, thus there is a need to develop more reliable biomarkers. This study introduces an electrochemical biosensor to measure the concentrations of tyrosine and tryptophan in urine samples, and proposes it as a potential diagnostic and prognostic tool for prostate cancer.

Rapid SARS-CoV-2 Detection Using Electrochemical Immunosensor

Biljana Mojsoska et al.

Summary: The development of diagnostic tests that can quickly identify infected individuals and assign treatment options is crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic. A proof-of-concept label-free electrochemical immunoassay for rapid detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus via spike surface protein has been introduced, showing high sensitivity for detection and portability for on-site diagnosis.

Global cancer statistics 2020: GLOBOCAN estimates of incidence and mortality worldwide for 36 cancers in 185 countries

Hyuna Sung et al.

Summary: The global cancer burden in 2020 saw an estimated 19.3 million new cancer cases and almost 10.0 million cancer deaths. Female breast cancer surpassed lung cancer as the most commonly diagnosed cancer, while lung cancer remained the leading cause of cancer death. These trends are expected to rise in 2040, with transitioning countries experiencing a larger increase compared to transitioned countries due to demographic changes and risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy. Efforts to improve cancer prevention measures and provision of cancer care in transitioning countries will be crucial for global cancer control.
