Investigating the Effects of Differential Learning on Golfers' Pitching Performance as a Function of Handicap

Miguel Valenca et al.

Summary: This study compared the effects of an enriched learning and information intervention with a more constrained approach on the pitching performance of golfers with different handicaps and shot distances. The results showed that the enriched learning group demonstrated advantageous adaptations in attack angle, face angle, and dynamic loft, as well as improvements in score, club head speed, and carry distance for the 50 m distance. Low handicap players in the enriched learning group showed greater adaptations in angle variables, while high handicap players improved their scores in all distances after the intervention.
