Metal Ion-Incorporated Lead-Free Perovskites toward Broadband Photodetectors

Junhua Shen et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskites, particularly Cs2SnI6, have garnered significant attention in optoelectronics due to their superior performance. However, the 2D form of Cs2SnI6 has limited performance compared to lead-based perovskites. To improve this, the doping or passivation of perovskites with aliovalent metal ions (nickel and zinc) is proposed. The introduction of these ions enhances photoluminescence and reduces surface trap/defect density, resulting in Cs2SnI6 perovskites with improved broadband detection, responsivity, and detectivity.
