Investigation of the Microstructure, Optical, Electrical and Nanomechanical Properties of ZnOx Thin Films Deposited by Magnetron Sputtering

Michal Mazur et al.

Summary: The paper investigates the effects of technological parameters on the microstructure, optical, electrical, and nanomechanical properties of zinc oxide coatings prepared using pulsed reactive magnetron sputtering. Different deposition modes were used, and the results showed that coatings deposited in metallic mode had nanocrystalline structures with a mix of hexagonal phases of metallic zinc and zinc oxide, while coatings deposited in dielectric modes had nanocrystalline ZnO structures. Coatings deposited in dielectric modes had better optical and mechanical properties compared to those deposited in metallic mode.

Electroless Platinum Deposition Using Co3+/Co2+ Redox Couple as a Reducing Agent

Loreta Tamasauskaite-Tamasiunaite et al.

Summary: The kinetics of electroless deposition of Pt using a cobalt ion redox system as a reducing agent was investigated in this study. Factors such as pH, concentration of reactants, temperature, and bubbling with argon were found to significantly affect the Pt deposition rate. Bubbling the electroless Pt plating solution with argon during the deposition process resulted in a higher deposition rate compared to not bubbling.
