Realizing widespread resonance effects to enhance thermoelectric performance of SnTe

Quanxin Yang et al.

Summary: The study aims to uncover the mechanism of the resonance effect and propose a method for screening suitable resonance dopants for SnTe. By identifying energy and position correlations, various elements were selected as potential resonance dopants, with re-evaluation of the Bi doping effect on SnTe's thermoelectric performance. Experimental results showed that Bi doping improved thermoelectric properties at high temperatures.

Fast synthesis and improved electrical stability in n-type Ag2Te thermoelectric materials

Huiping Hu et al.

Summary: In this study, n-type pure phase Ag2Te compound was successfully synthesized and the co-precipitation of PbTe was found to improve the electrical stability of Ag2Te samples. A maximum zT of 0.72 was achieved at 570K for Pb-doped Ag2-xPbxTe (x = 0.03).

High ZT and performance controllable thermoelectric devices based on electrically gated bismuth telluride thin films

Dongli Qin et al.

Summary: A method based on FET is proposed to optimize the thermoelectric properties of bismuth telluride thin films, allowing control over Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity, and carrier type. The experiments showed promising results in achieving high power factor and ZT values in both N-type and P-type. Furthermore, a N-P pair device was constructed by applying different gate voltages on the thin films, and Te-doped bismuth telluride thin films demonstrated adjustable sensitivity in a thin film thermocouple.

Anion exchanged Cl doping achieving band sharpening and low lattice thermal conductivity for improving thermoelectric performance in SnTe

Quanxin Yang et al.

Summary: Band structure modification by Cl doping can improve the thermoelectric performance of SnTe. While it reduces effective mass and introduces high carrier mobility, it also optimizes electrical conductivity but deteriorates the Seebeck coefficient. However, temperature-driven band convergence can help recover the Seebeck coefficient to a normal level, leading to an improved figure of merit ZT due to the high power factor.
