Polypharmacy and bone fracture risk in patients with type 2 diabetes: The Fukuoka Diabetes Registry

Summary: The study prospectively investigated the association between the number of prescribed drugs and fracture risk in patients with type 2 diabetes. The results showed that a greater number of prescribed drugs is associated with an increased bone fracture risk in this patient population. The study also found a significant trend of higher fracture incidence rates and risk ratios with an increase in the number of prescribed drugs.
