A new species of Phaeocollybia, P. pakistanica, is described that represents the first record of the genus from Pakistan. Diagnostic characters include purplish red to brownish red pilei, lilaceous gills, a monopodial radicating cartilaginous stipe, small ellipsoidal verruculose brown spores, and thin-walled subcapitate cheilocystidia. ITS-nrDNA sequence analyses support P. pakistanica as an independent new species.
