A feasibility study of teleassessment for people with aphasia in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait

Summary: This study evaluates the feasibility of using telepractice (TP) to assess people with aphasia (PWA) and finds that TP is comparable to traditional face-to-face (FTF) delivery method with no significant difference in assessment scores, except for auditory comprehension task with lower scores in TP. Participants reported high satisfaction with TP and practical considerations for implementing TP were discussed.

The Reliability of Telepractice Administration of the Western Aphasia Battery-Revised in Persons With Primary Progressive Aphasia

Summary: This study compared in-person and telehealth administration of the Western Aphasia Battery-Revised (WAB-R) for individuals with mild to moderate primary progressive aphasia (PPA). The results showed strong concordance between in-person and telehealth scores for the WAB-AQ, Auditory Verbal Comprehension subtest, and Naming & Word Finding subtest. However, there was slightly lower concordance for the Spontaneous Speech test. Overall, telehealth administration of the WAB-R via videoconferencing is supported for individuals with mild to moderate PPA.
