A Broadband Kinematic Source Inversion Method Considering Realistic Earth Models and Its Application to the 1992 Landers Earthquake

Xiang-Chao Wang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a novel kinematic source inversion method for generating broadband ground motions and mapping the detailed rupture process of earthquakes. By using a multidimension source model, accurate Green's functions, and an evolutionary many-objective optimization algorithm, the researchers successfully mapped the rupture process of the 1992 Landers earthquake and obtained ground motions that agree well with observations over a wide frequency range.

A Multidimension Source Model for Generating Broadband Ground Motions with Deterministic 3D Numerical Simulations

Xiang-Chao Wang et al.

Summary: This article presents a multidimension source model for generating realistic broadband ground motions of earthquakes. By simulating the 1994 Northridge earthquake and a scenario earthquake, the effectiveness of the model was verified.
