MHD Flow of a Hybrid Nano-Fluid in a Triangular Enclosure with Zigzags and an Elliptic Obstacle

Ines Chabani et al.

Summary: This study numerically investigates the heat transfer of Cu-TiO2/EG hybrid nano-fluid inside a porous annulus using the multi-physics COMSOL software and the Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer model. The results show that, except for the Hartmann number which decelerates the flow rate, all other parameters have a positive impact on the thermal transmission rate.

The Crank-Nicolson orthogonal spline collocation method for one-dimensional parabolic problems with interfaces

Santosh Kumar Bhal et al.

Summary: In this study, one-dimensional parabolic problems with interfaces are solved using orthogonal spline collocation for spatial discretization and the Crank-Nicolson method for time-stepping. The method is detailed for cubic monomial basis functions and easily extended to higher degree monomials. The results of numerical experiments show optimal global accuracy and second order accuracy in time, with superconvergence observed at the nodes.

The pointwise error estimates of two energy-preserving fourth-order compact schemes for viscous Burgers' equation

Xuping Wang et al.

Summary: A novel fourth-order three-point compact operator is presented for the nonlinear convection term uu(x), allowing for numerical analysis of higher-order difference schemes for a wide class of nonlinear evolutionary equations. The proposed scheme based on this operator is conservative, uniquely solvable, stable, and unconditionally convergent in discrete L-infinity-norm with convergence orders of two in time and four in space. Additionally, a three-level linearized compact difference scheme for the viscous Burgers' equation is derived, demonstrating second-order accuracy in time and fourth-order accuracy in space.
