Potential for selective oxidation of aniline in soil washing effluent by active chlorine and testing its practicality

Yi Ren et al.

Summary: This study constructed a selective oxidation system using electrochemical technology to treat soil washing effluent (SWE). The results showed that the concentration of sodium chloride had opposite effects on the removal efficiency of aniline (ARE) and the retention efficiency of TW 80 (TW 80 RE). The biotoxicity of the SWE decreased as the experiment progressed. The degradation of aniline was mainly contributed by active chlorine in the SWE.

Electrochemical degradation of doxycycline hydrochloride on Bi/Ce co-doped Ti/PbO2 anodes: Efficiency and mechanism

Guangfei Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, small amounts of bismuth and cerium were co-doped in the titanium matrix lead dioxide anode using the electro-deposition method. The Ti/PbO2/Bi-Ce 03 electrode showed the best catalytic effect and surface structure. Doping improved the corrosion potential, accelerated lifetime, degradation efficiency, and reduced the electrochemical impedance of the electrode. The degradation of DOX on Ti/PbO2/Bi-Ce 03 electrode was mainly attributed to direct oxidation and SO4-.

Electrochemical advanced oxidation processes for wastewater treatment: Advances in formation and detection of reactive species and mechanisms

Soliu Oladejo Ganiyu et al.

Summary: The knowledge of electrochemical advanced oxidation processes (EAOPs) mechanisms has evolved over the past three decades, aided by advances in analytical and spectrometric techniques. The type, nature, and quantity of reactive species generated in EAOPs are controlled by various factors, and their accurate identification is crucial for understanding their reactivity. The potency and reactivity of oxidants generated in EAOPs are similar regardless of the technique used, except in the case of heterogeneous and homogeneous hydroxyl radicals.

Activation of peroxymonosulfate by bimetallic CoMn oxides loaded on coal fly ash-derived SBA-15 for efficient degradation of Rhodamine B

Yusheng Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, SBA-15 mesoporous molecular sieve was successfully synthesized using coal fly ash as the silicon source, bimetallic CoMn catalysts were fabricated, and their performance in degrading Rhodamine B in an aqueous solution was evaluated. The results showed that CoMn/SBA-15 had higher RhB removal efficiency and lower metal leaching compared to monometallic catalysts. The study demonstrated the potential of using coal fly ash as a silicon source for preparing heterogeneous catalysts for oxidative degradation of organic pollutants in wastewater.
