Modeling, optimization and characterization of titanium dioxide thin film prepared by the spin-coating method using the experimental design for an application of photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue

Otmane Sadek et al.

Summary: This study focuses on modeling and optimizing the deposition of TiO2 film on ITO glass using the spin-coating method. The optimal conditions for deposition were found to be 457 g/l concentration, 1020 rpm speed, 43 s duration of rotation, 100°C drying temperature for 30 s, and 500°C calcination temperature for 2 h. The characterized TiO2/ITO film showed good crystallization, deposition quality, surface adhesion, and thickness, and exhibited a high photocatalytic activity for the degradation of methylene blue in water.

The adsorption of methylene blue from wastewater by Moringaoleifera pods and kernels wastes using the response surface methodology

Fadimatou Ahmadou et al.

Summary: In recent years, researchers have been exploring the use of biomaterials from various sources for wastewater treatment. This study focuses on using Moringaoleifera pods and kernels powder for removing methylene blue dye from water. The adsorption process follows the pseudo-second-order model, and the adsorbents were characterized using FT-IR, XRD, and SEM. The optimization process determined the optimal conditions for MOPP and MOKP, achieving high removal efficiencies of 98.12% and 96.94% respectively. The chosen model was validated by experimental data, and ANOVA confirmed the high-efficiency adsorbent capacity of the materials.

Fractional Order Modeling of Predicting COVID-19 with Isolation and Vaccination Strategies in Morocco

Lakhlifa Sadek et al.

Summary: In this study, a model is proposed to investigate the spread of COVID-19 using the fractional order Caputo derivative. The model considers different hospitalization strategies for severe and mild cases and incorporates an awareness program. The SEIR model is generalized to focus on the transmissibility of aware and ignorant individuals, as well as individuals with different symptoms. Numerical simulations and predictions are conducted, considering immunization and the effect of public awareness on transmission dynamics.

Pseudo-stem banana fiber as a potential low-cost adsorbent to remove methylene blue from synthetic wastewater

Md Wasikur Rahman et al.

Summary: In this study, pseudo-stem banana fiber was used as a low-cost adsorbent to remove methylene blue dye from synthetic wastewater. The adsorption process was investigated by studying different factors such as contact time, pH, initial concentration, and adsorbent dosage. The pH was found to have a significant influence on the separation process. Various adsorption isotherms and kinetic models were used to analyze the adsorption equilibrium and reaction kinetics. SEM and FTIR were utilized to analyze the morphology and surface properties of the adsorbent.

Statistical optimization of photocatalytic degradation process of methylene blue dye by SnO-TiO2-AC composite using response surface methodology

Samiha F. Deriase et al.

Summary: The study optimized the photocatalytic degradation process of MB dye using a D-optimal experimental design and response surface methodology. The results indicated that light intensity, initial dye concentration, photocatalyst dose, and irradiation time were crucial factors affecting the dye degradation efficiency. Under the optimal conditions of 400 nm of visible light, 100 ppm initial dye concentration, 1.5 g/L photocatalyst dose, and 3.77 h of irradiation time, the final dye concentration and degradation percentage were 4.713 ppm and 95.28%, respectively.
