A novel water-based lubricating additive of GO@PTFE: Superior tribological performances from the synergistic effect

Summary: In this study, a novel water-based lubricating additive of graphene oxide@polytetrafluoroethylene (GO@PTFE) composite was synthesized, which successfully solved the dispersion stability and wettability issues of PTFE. The study demonstrated that GO@PTFE additive had excellent tribological performance, with significantly lower friction coefficient and wear rate compared to pure water, as well as lower than PTFE and GO alone. The study also investigated the influence of additive concentration, load, and velocity on the tribological properties.
