However, there is controversy and lack of comprehensive overview regarding their properties and effects. Some herbal cigarettes may lead to metabolic issues and increase the risk of chronic metabolic diseases due to the presence of toxic chemicals in burnt plant substances. This review provides information on the chemical composition, quality characteristics, and health effects of herbal cigarettes.
