What are the factors associated with pregnancy loss after timed-artificial insemination in Bos indicus cattle?

Carlos E. C. Consentini et al.

Summary: This study retrospectively evaluated pregnancy loss after timed-artificial insemination in Bos indicus cattle. Several factors including parity, body condition score, presence of corpus luteum, estrus expression, and hormonal manipulations were found to influence pregnancy loss in Nelore beef cows.

Effect of Treatment with Additional Doses of Prostaglandin F2 Alpha during the Middle Stage of the Oestrus Cycle on Luteolysis Process and Reproduction Performance in Holstein Dairy Cows

N. . Neisari et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the luteolysis response and reproductive performance in dairy cows after one or two injections of PGF(2)alpha during the oestrus cycle. The results showed that an additional dose of PGF(2)alpha did not have a significant effect on luteolysis or reproductive performance.

Symposium review: The implications of spontaneous versus synchronized ovulations on the reproductive performance of lactating dairy cows

P. M. Fricke et al.

Summary: The Ovsynch protocol has been proven to increase pregnancy per artificial insemination (P/AI) in lactating dairy cows, compared to cows inseminated after a detected estrus. Implementing timed artificial insemination (TAI) programs has been an important factor in the significant improvement of reproductive performance in lactating dairy cows in the United States over the past 20 years.

Evaluation of the 7 & 7 Synch and 7-day CO-Synch plus CIDR treatment regimens for control of the estrous cycle among beef cows prior to fixed-time artificial insemination with conventional or sex-sorted semen

C. M. Andersen et al.

Summary: The study compared different treatment regimens before fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) of beef cows with conventional or sex-sorted semen. Cows treated with the 7 & 7 Synch regimen showed higher estrus expression and pregnancy percentage compared to cows treated with 7-day CO-Synch + CIDR regimen, although using sex-sorted semen resulted in lower pregnancy percentages overall.
