Beneficial effects of fibroblast growth factor 10 supplementation during in vitro maturation of buffalo cumulus-oocyte complexes

Shanshan Du et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of FGF10 supplementation on the in vitro maturation of buffalo oocytes and its related mechanisms. The results show that adding 5 ng/mL-FGF10 during in vitro maturation can increase the nuclear maturation rate, enhance the activity of maturation-promoting factor, and improve the maturation of buffalo oocytes. FGF10 also inhibits the apoptosis of cumulus cells, promotes their proliferation and expansion, and increases glucose absorption.
