Detection of HIV/HCV virus DNA with homogeneous DNA machine-triggered in situ formation of silver nanoclusters

Na Wu et al.

Summary: By combining Exo III-assisted target recycling amplification with rolling circle amplification, a novel silver nanocluster was used as fluorescence probes to achieve ultrasensitive HIV/HCV DNA detection. Furthermore, through the design of padlock probes and utilization of generated ssDNA fragments, an intelligent DNA machine was constructed to distinguish multiple virus DNAs.

Biomineralization of DNA Nanoframeworks for Intracellular Delivery, On-Demand Diagnosis, and Synergistic Cancer Treatments

Xiaoni Wang et al.

Summary: DNA nanoframeworks with controlled structures and rich biological information have great potential in biological applications. However, their applications are often limited by unstable structures. To address this issue, biomineralization of multifunctional DNA nanoframeworks with a silica coating has been employed to enhance their mechanical and chemical stability. The silica-armored DNA nanoframeworks showed efficient intracellular deliveries without degradations or leakages of loaded reagents. Additionally, the nanoframeworks allowed for miRNA detection and synergistic treatments in cancer cells through the collapse of the silica coating.
