Multi-agent consensus with heterogeneous time-varying input and communication delays in digraphs

Wei Jiang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the distributed consensus tracking control problem for general linear multi-agent systems with external disturbances and heterogeneous time-varying input and communication delays. The authors propose a communication-delay-related observer and use output regulation theory to relax the results. The stability of the closed-loop error system is guaranteed using a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and input-delay-dependent linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).

Global Leader-Following Consensus of Double-Integrator Multiagent Systems by Fully Distributed Bounded Linear Protocols

Kai Zhang et al.

Summary: This article discusses the global leader-following consensus problem of input-constrained double-integrator multiagent systems. It proposes bounded static linear protocols to solve the global leader-following consensus problem for homogeneous multiagent systems and bounded linear protocols based on distributed observers for solving the global consensus problem for heterogeneous multiagent systems. The effectiveness of the proposed approaches is demonstrated through a numerical example.

Sampled-Data Dynamic Output Feedback Consensus Control of Multi-Agent Systems

Guanglei Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the consensus problem in multi-agent systems using sampled-data dynamic output feedback control. A distributed control law is designed based on sampled relative output information between neighboring agents. A closed-loop system model with hybrid dynamics is constructed for consensus analysis and choice of sampling period. Lyapunov-based analysis is presented to develop stability conditions. Compared to existing works, observer design is not required, and only sampled relative output information is used, with the ability to explicitly compute the maximum allowable sampling period.

Fully Distributed Consensus of Switched Heterogeneous Nonlinear Multi-Agent Systems With Bouc-Wen Hysteresis Input

Haoyan Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the adaptive fully distributed consensus problem for a class of nonlinear multi-agent systems with heterogeneous structures and hysteresis inputs, achieving consensus tracking control by approximating system uncertainties with neural networks and designing an adaptive neural consensus control protocol. The proposed protocol ensures bounded signals of the system through Lyapunov stability theory, without requiring information on the number of agents and interaction topology during design.

Prescribed-Time Synchronization of Complex Dynamical Networks With and Without Time-Varying Delays

Juan Chen et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the prescribed-time synchronization of complex dynamical networks (CDNs) with and without time-varying delays. Suitable controllers are designed to obtain CDNs with directed spanning trees. Two sufficient conditions are derived using Lyapunov Stability Theory to ensure that CDNs reach synchronization within a prescribed finite time. Unlike existing works, where the settling time is determined by initial conditions or control parameters, the proposed method allows for arbitrary assignment of the settling time as needed. Two examples are provided to validate the theoretical results.

Consensus of Multiagent Systems With Time-Varying Input Delay and Relative State Saturation Constraints

Hongjun Chu et al.

Summary: This article investigates the consensus control of delayed multiagent systems under relative state saturations, transforming the problem into the stability of edge dynamics on constrained sets using an incidence matrix. A novel nonlinear protocol is designed to ensure edge states stay within constrained sets. The theoretical results are validated through simulations, preserving connectivity and achieving consensus.

Consensus of Multiagent Systems With Time-Varying Input Delay via Truncated Predictor Feedback

Hongjun Chu et al.

Summary: This article investigates the consensus tracking of exponentially unstable multiagent systems with time-varying input delay. The design approach utilizes the truncated predictor feedback method and establishes explicit conditions for achieving consensus tracking in terms of parametric Lyapunov equations and scalar inequalities. The study reveals the quantitative relationship among time delay, unstable plant, network topologies, and convergence rate, providing insights into the protocol design algorithms under maximum allowable delay and maximum convergence rate.

Scale-free protocol design for regulated state synchronization of homogeneous multi-agent systems with unknown and non-uniform input delays

Zhenwei Liu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates regulated state synchronization of homogeneous networks of non-introspective agents in the presence of unknown and nonuniform input delays. A scale-free design utilizing neighborhood-based collaborative protocols is proposed, which eliminates the need for knowledge of the communication topology of the network. An upper bound for the input delay tolerance is obtained, which depends on agent dynamics but is independent of the network.
