The Nature Futures Framework (NFF) has been proposed to enhance the use of scenarios and models in environmental assessments, focusing on people-nature relationships and three value perspectives: Nature for Nature, Nature for Society, and Nature as Culture. This study examines the implementation of the NFF for improved assessment of freshwater ecosystems and suggests ways to integrate it with current freshwater models and scenarios.
